• In Flink Smith’s further attempts to “Go Green” we have opted not to send holiday greeting cards through the mail.  Rather, we are taking the money that we would have expended for those mailings and are making a donation to the Adirondack/Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross.  We will be e-mailing our holiday greetings and advising our friends and colleagues of this donation.  We believe this is a win/win/win situation as our well-wishes will still be extended to our friends, clients and colleagues, we will have cut back on the waste necessitated by sending out paper cards and we will be assisting a charitable organization who will in turn be able to assist those in need during the holiday season.  For further information in regard to the Adirondack/Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross and the extraordinary services it provides, please see that organization’s website.  http://www.redcrossadirondacksaratoga.org.  The Management Team selected this organization at the suggestion of Rob Coughlin who serves on the Board of Directors and as Secretary to this Chapter of the Red Cross.

  • Flink Smith is pleased to report that the inaugural Geoff Bodine Bobsled Flink Smith Invitational was a success! Combining the best of the Saratoga Race Course and summertime golfing at Shaker Ridge Country Club, a premier Capital District course, participants had the opportunity to enjoy two days of festivities - supporting USA Bobsledding and helping the Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project build the sleds that will help keep our athletes competitive in Vancouver 2010.

  • On track day, the rainy afternoon did not dampen everyone’s enjoyment of a track side view from the luxury suite.  The afternoon of racing was complete with the 3rd and 7th races named in honor of the event, the Flink Smith Invitational and the Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge. Attendees had the opportunity to get acquainted with NASCAR Drivers Geoff Bodine and Larry Gunselman, along with USA Bobsledders John Napier and Mike Kohn and a number of additional members of the USA Bobsled Team.

  • On the golf day, we could not have asked for better weather as all enjoyed around of golf with the above mentioned celebrities as well as NASCAR driver Boris Said.  Golf was followed by a luncheon buffet and an auction of NASCAR and Bobsledding memorabilia.

  • All attendees received passes for the 2009 Bodine Bobsled Challenge event on January 2-4, 2009 in Lake Placid as well as Columbia rain jackets and golf shirts.

  • Again, we want to thank all of those who supported this worthwhile endeavor in joining us, especially our sponsors M & T Bank, Creative Capital, Cusack & Company, Clough Harbour & Associates LLP, SaQus IT Solutions and 1st Rate Funding. We look forward to making this an annual tradition.
